When not to Use PSD Files
The downside about PSD is its file size. It is usually extremely large, especially if the image is higher in resolution and has dozens of layers. PSD files cannot be directly uploaded as graphical components onto a website. It usually needs to be converted into a JPEG, PNG, GIF or SVG to be a valid website element.
